Going the Distance…Literally

I started running about less than two years ago to not only become fit, but I have a personal goal from my bucket list to run in the New York City Marathon. Unfortunately, entering the NYC Marathon will be a lot tougher this year because the runners who were supposed to run last year (cancelled due to Hurricane Sandy) will have guaranteed entry for 2013. Instead of waiting for another year to run in NYC, I changed my personal goal slightly into running my first marathon, regardless of where it is. After a lot of thinking, I decided to sign up for the Atlantic City Marathon in October!

I’ve ran numerous 5Ks and 10Ks, as well as two half marathons (plus another half marathon this coming April). Each race is a different challenge, but I wanted to challenge myself even further mentally and literally. It’s a long way to go until October, but I believe with the proper training, I can conquer 26.2 miles.

Plus, to make myself accountable with training, I’ll try to update my progress at least weekly. Good luck to me!
