Designed and developed a communications campaign for an internal employee forum on cyber security where industry experts and special guests shared their insights and practical steps to keep information secure in a digital world.
How I did it:
Created an event page and registration form in SharePoint (1st image below)
Wrote copy for intranet article, employee newsletter and other email communications (2nd image below)
After some late nights, I finally added some new pieces in my Portfolio page. The page has been reorganized by different categories (brochures, newsletters, banners, etc.). As always, it’s a work in progress and gets updated constantly (well starting today, of course, ha!). Definitely check it out here or click the Portfolio tab above.
yvenia.com has a new look! I changed up the WordPress template for a more organized look and feel. In my opinion, the site will always be a work in progress, but I like this new WordPress theme more than the previous one. If you’re wondering, the theme is called “Fresh & Clean.” Plus, if you have any feedback on the site, comments are always welcome. I have a thick skin so I can take it! Happy viewing!
Happy Belated New Year! It’s been awhile since I updated this blog. Things have been pretty busy for me as of late.
To start things off — career-wise — I’m being more involved with the Association for Women in Communications (AWC) in both the local and national levels. I’ve been a member of the organization for about 8 years now. Since August 2011, I’m part of the board now as the co-VP of Marketing & Communications for the AWC – NJ Chapter. Plus, I’m involved in the National AWC Marketing & Committee as a volunteer/committee member. I have to admit, it’s a lot more work than I thought, but I’m learning so much by being more involved w/ AWC. If you’re in the communications industry, I highly recommend being a member in this organization. Click here to learn more about AWC and the NJ Chapter.
On a personal level, I’m training for a half-marathon coming up in April called the UNITE Half Marathon in New Brunswick. I just started training on 1/2/12 and so far so good. With the exception of this past week – work and AWC commitments – I’m somewhat consistent in my training. I actually have a personal goal in mind — running the NYC Marathon in 2013. In order for me to do that, I’m signing up for a few more races this year, including the Run Like A Diva half marathon in Long Island (October 2012) and Miles for Music 20K Race in NJ (March 2012). Hopefully I don’t overexert myself!
Since it’s a new year, I definitely need to focus on updating this blog. I’ve been SOOO behind on posting some stuff in my design and writing pages. At least I’m taking it easy today so that I can make those updates, including some AWC projects that I did.
Got some goals* for 2012? Let me know.
*By the way, I refuse to say “resolutions” because not a lot of us follow through on resolutions. “Goals” sound a lot better!
